Evelyn Carow (born 17.12.1931):
Evelyn Carow is probably DEFA's most important master editor. With more than 50 films that attracted attention far beyond the borders of the GDR, she helped shape East German film history. She entered into long-standing working relationships with DEFA's most famous directors: she worked as an editor for Gerhard Klein, Konrad Wolf, Frank Beyer and her husband Heiner Carow. The master editor always sees herself as a partner at eye level, is involved in the artistic working process at an early stage and contributes her ideas. For her, film work is always teamwork.
